FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse Note: As of January 6, 2023, employers will be required to query the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse for new employees in safety-sensitive positions to search for drug and alcohol violations before permitting the employee to operate a commercial motor vehicle.

To meet the DOT requirement, employers must register online with the FMCSA Clearinghouse before January 6, 2023 to ensure queries can be run for new hires. Driver iQ's clients can add the FMCSA Clearinghouse service to their background screening program, register with the Clearinghouse, and identify Driver iQ as their C/TPA (consortium/third party administrator) to conduct queries on their behalf.
